Stephen Harris
29 June 2007
International private client law firm Withers has, for the first time, elected a corporate lawyer as chairman. Anthony Indaimo, currently head of the firm’s Milan office, takes up his post with effect from 1 July 2007. According to the firm, the election of 45-year-old, Australian-Italian Mr Indaimo is a reflection of the international nature of the firm and the commercialisation of the private client sector. The firm says that Mr Indaimo’s appointment reinforces its commitment to advising high net worth clients and entrepreneurs with sophisticated personal and business needs in all the major financial centres of the world. Mr Indaimo, who joined Withers in 1995, has helped to build the firm’s corporate practice with clients such as the Renault F1 Team, Max Mara, Henkel and Rentokil Initial. In 2002, he set up the Milan office and he also heads the firm’s International Commercial Practice Group. Mr Indaimo succeeds Diana Parker, who was elected the first female chairman of a Top 100 law firm in 1999. The firm will also move to a single managing director, commercial litigator Margaret Robertson, who is currently joint managing director. In the US, wealth planning lawyer Bill Swift, who is currently joint managing director becomes regional senior partner. Withers is the world's first international law firm dedicated to the business, personal and philanthropic interests of successful people, their businesses, their families and their advisors. The firm has over 100 partners and 600 staff.
