Credit Suisse Expands Equities Business in Turkey

Credit Suisse has expanded its Equities business in Turkey by acquiring Baran Securities, a Turkish brokerage based in Istanbul. Credit Suisse will now offer clients expanded equities sales, trading and research in Turkey. The Bank now holds a broker dealer license on the Istanbul Stock Exchange, which has been approved by the Turkey Capital Markets Board. On May 5, Credit Suisse began trading under the name of Credit Suisse Istanbul Menkul Deưerler. Fawzi Kyriakos-Saad, chief executive of emerging markets, EMEA region for Credit Suisse said: "We are very pleased to further strengthen our presence in Turkey through this onshore platform. Turkey is an exciting growth market and a key part of our global emerging markets franchise."
