Julius Baer has started a strategic cooperation with the Swiss think tank WIRE which will provide analysis and insights regarding trends in the fields of business, society, technology and life sciences, complementing the Bank’s Next Generation investment framework.

and the Swiss think tank, Web for Interdisciplinary Research & Expertise, or WIRE, are joining forces to explore long term investment opportunities that fit with rising demand to meet social and environmental demands.

WIRE will deliver analysis and insights on trends in business, society, technology and life sciences, which Julius Baer says will help its “next generation” strategy.

The think tank was founded in 2007 and carries out what it calls “holistic analysis of long-term drivers of change and the early detection of trends”.

WIRE is associated with the Collegium Helveticum, a joint initiative of the University of Zurich and the ETH Zurich to promote trans-disciplinary research and knowledge exchange. It maintains a broad international network of experts and opinion leaders.

The Zurich-listed bank announced last week that total assets under management of SFr264 billion ($296.9 billion) rose by 4 per cent from the end of last year; it continues to shift over money as a result of its purchase of the Merrill Lynch International Wealth Management business, the non-US wealth arm of Bank of America.
