Lombard International Assurance Names New Head Of Specialist Team

, the Luxembourg-based life assurance company, has appointed Robert MacIntyre to lead its wealth structuring solutions unit.
MacIntyre was previously chief of wealth planning for the EMEA region at Merrill Lynch and will lead a team of 20, Lombard International Assurance said in a statement.
He started working with Lombard International Assurance more than a year ago to develop private banking relations in the London market and will be responsible for managing Lombard's Luxembourg-based specialists that offer wealth planning capabilities to business partners and their clients.
Lombard International Assurance has also appointed Daniel Starberg to lead the Nordic team, covering Finland, Sweden and Norway and joins from a Swedish law firm where he was tax partner.
Maik Buffone has joined as wealth planner for Italy from IWI Luxembourg, specialising in Italian, German and UK taxation.
