, the London-headquartered wealth and investment manager, has launched Walker Cambria, a new service for the Welsh market. Led by Andrew Morgan and Gary Waite, the new firm will provide both bespoke and managed portfolio services as an outsourced solution for IFAs and wealth managers out of its office in Swansea.

“Walker Crips recognise that the Welsh market is different from that of the rest of the UK owing to the growing local prominence of intermediaries. The Walker Cambria brand will provide the platform for us to extend our services to the investment intermediary community of Wales. It is the latest addition in our targeted push for regional growth,” explained Rodney FitzGerald, chief executive at Walker Crips.

Morgan has spent the majority of his career working as a fund manager at Mitsubishi-UFJ Asset Management where he specialised in UK and European equities. He has also spent time in global equities at BlackRock and managing private client portfolios for Brewin Dolphin.

Waite began his career as a government economist in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, before becoming a fund manager at CTC. He has also served as a director within the European specialist team at BlackRock.

Also supporting the fund management team will be Andrew Davies who joins Walker Cambria after seven years at Brewin Dolphin. In this role he will be responsible for new business development.

“Despite the large number of high quality IFAs in Wales, there are currently only a few discretionary fund managers based here. Walker Cambria will be the only firm offering a complete outsourced solution from Swansea,” said Morgan when explaining the move.

Walker Crips is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
