Spanish Private Bank Looks to Italy for Expansion

According to local media reports, Banif Banca Privada, Banco Santander Central Hispano's private banking arm, is planning to open 20 private banking branches in Italy. A source cited a plan that the Spanish bank sent to the Bank of Italy, although a Banif spokesman said: “I am not in a position to confirm or deny the report”.
