Old Mutual Global Investors Recruits Veteran Governance Expert

Old Mutual Global Investors, the asset management arm of , has appointed former Schroders senior manager Paul Emerton as its head of UK stewardship and governance, a role similar to the one he performed at his previous firm.
He has specialised in this field of investment for almost a quarter of a century, advising fund managers on shareholder engagement, an issue that has gained more prominence in recent years.
In his new post, he reports to Richard Buxton, head of UK equities, with whom he had worked at Schroders.
Old Mutual Global Investors oversees a total of more than £15.2 billon ($24.9 billion); the business was launched in August 2012. It is the asset management division of Old Mutual Wealth. OMW has a total of £76 billion of customer investments (data as of 30 September 2013).
