Scottish Investment Group Boosts Partner Numbers

Independent investment partnership searched within its own ranks to replace partners retiring at the end of April this year as well as adding an extra position.

Set to start on May 1, the appointments of Tom Coutts, Stuart Dunbar and David Henderson will see the total number of partners at the Edinburgh-based firm rise from 39 to 40, it said in a statement.

Dunbar is the director of the clients department for UK financial institutions with Henderson his counterpart for Asian clients, and Coutts is the head of the European equity team.

They succeed Mick Brewis and Michael MacPhee, who have been with Baillie Gifford for 28 and 25 years respectively. Brewis serves as head of the North American equity team and MacPhee as the portfolio manager on the global opportunities team and the manager of the Mid Wynd International Investment Trust until their retirement on 30 April.

“The gradual increase in the size of the partnership matches the firm’s measured growth and reflects the increasing diversity of our client base,” said Andrew Tefler, joint senior partner of the asset management firm.
