Towers Watson Bolsters Australian Team With Five Hires

, the international investment consultancy firm, has grown its Australian team with five new appointments. The hires consist of two investment consultants and three investment analysts. Craig Mercer, who most recently served as head of the London office at Dalton Investments, has re-joined the company as a specialist senior hedge fund and alternatives consultant. When he was with Towers Watson, Mercer spent seven years as senior manager research professional for both the London and Hong Kong offices. In this new role, he will be based in Sydney. Sean O'Shea has also joined the Sydney team as investment consultant. He previously held senior roles at Challenger Financial Services, Apostle Asset Management and Royal Bank of Scotland. The three new investment analysts are Sean Hollins, Brushan Chiniah and Chris Tan. Hollins most recently served as managing in PricewaterhouseCoopers' Melbourne investment consulting team, Chiniah steps in after graduating from Monash University, while Tan was a senior consultant with PwC's business controls assurance team in Sydney. The appointments complement Towers Watson's ongoing growth efforts toward a more global business. Just recently, the company also bolstered its North American team with the hire of three senior investment professionals. Towers Watson Investment is a division of Towers Watson's risk and financial services business. It records at least $2 trillion in assets under advise.
