GenSpring Expands Family Governance, Education Resources

GenSpring Family Offices, the ultra high net worth wealth
management firm, is expanding its family governance and education resources in
a move which it believes reflects a rise in demand among clients for
these services. Daisy Medici, managing director of governance and education,
has been given an expanded role to include oversight and management of the resources, as well as
11 new governance and education specialists. The firm has also named family wealth advisors David Herritt
and Sheila Stinson as family governance director and family education director,
respectively. Herritt and Stinson will work with
the existing governance and education teams as well as five regional
specialists who will work directly with clients. All governance and education team members are trained in the
areas of family systems, family dynamics, family communication and meeting
facilitation, said. GenSpring has for a long time emphasized the importance of
learning as a core component to helping families sustain their wealth. "Through the market turmoil in recent years, our client families’ recognition of the undeniable importance of human and intellectual capital issues such as family governance and education has accelerated," the firm told Family Wealth Report. "Families are focused on preparing heirs and our clients have a great amount of energy around preparing family members to be responsible stewards of the family's wealth. An integral part to preparing heirs for success is establishing effective systems of governance that aid a family’s ability to make decisions."
