JP Morgan AM Hires BoA Portfolio Manager

J has appointed James Davidson as co-portfolio manager for its global equity income strategy, effective from 1 November 2013.

Davidson joins senior portfolio manager Gerd Woort-Menker on managing the UK-listed JPM Global Equity Income Fund, and Luxembourg-domiciled JPMF Global Dividend Fund. Having been with the firm for 27 years, Woort-Menker will remain lead fund manager.

Based in London, Davidson will enhance the fund’s income investment process, working closely with the global research teams which generate stock insights, and providing a London-based contact for European clients and consultants.

Prior to joining the firm, Davidson oversaw a global equity sales desk at Bank of America Merrill Lynch consisting of 700 research analysts. He previously spent five years as a US equity portfolio manager with Morgan Grenfell Asset Management. He began his career in Edinburgh on the US equities desk at Baillie Gifford.

JP Morgan Asset Management is one of the world’s largest asset managers with $1.5 trillion in assets under management as at 30 September 2013.
