BNY Mellon WM Boosts Business Development Teams As Hiring Drive Continues
Eliane Chavagnon
10 October 2013
has appointed Guy Asadorian and
Scott Pinchak as business development directors in Providence,
RI, and Harrisburg,
PA, respectively. Asadorian will report to Thomas Fay, regional president for Rhode Island and Western Connecticut, while Pinchak reports
to Garrett Alton, regional sales manager and managing director in Philadelphia. The news comes days after the New York-listed firm
announced the appointment of Helen Nugent to a newly-created role as a managing
director of sales to lead business development efforts in the Southeast. Asadorian was latterly a principal and co-founder of
Tameracq Partners, a Rhode Island-based middle-market mergers and acquisitions
firm. Earlier in his 27-year career, he was a financial consultant with Smith
Barney where he focused on serving high net worth clients. Meanwhile, Pinchak joins BNY Mellon from
Creative Financial Group in Philadelphia,
where he co-managed around 50 financial advisors. He was
previously a financial advisor with the firm. Earlier this year BNY Mellon rolled
out a two-year recruiting campaign for its wealth management business that will
result in the addition of around 100 new positions in the US and abroad, reflecting what the
firm described as its “profound commitment” to the wealth management industry. Also in October, for example, the firm hired Peter Balesano as senior director for business
development in Westborough, MA
- a "key wealth market for the New England
region," it said. In September alone it hired a chief marketing officer in NY; a senior director in Palm Beach Gardens; and a senior director
of business development for serving the ultra high
net worth market in the New York Tri-State region. It also promoted two senior managers to run its Eastern and Western Florida
offices, and hired a
former employee to oversee its wealth management business strategy and
spearhead an expansion of its sales unit. Click here to view an interview with Lawrence Hughes, chief
executive of BNY Mellon Wealth Management, who spoke to Family Wealth Report in a little more detail about the growth
strategy and why the firm needs more people in more places.
