HSBC Global AM Appoints Senior Fixed Income Manager In New York

HSBC Global Asset Management, part of the UK/Hong
Kong-listed banking group , has appointed Mary Bowers as a senior global
high yield fund manager in its global fixed income team, based in New York. The team manages about $3 billion in the high-yield sector
of the credit market. Bowers will manage the HSBC GIF Global High Yield Bond
Fund and the recently launched HSBC GIF Global Short Duration High Yield Bond
Fund which have $1.1 billion and $20 million in assets respectively. Bowers previously worked at Aberdeen Asset
Management/Artio Global Investors (formerly Julius Baer Asset Management) in New York, where she had
ten years of experience in global high yield portfolio management, co-managing
approximately $4 billion of high yield assets. She has been working in the
industry since 2001. She reports to Xavier Baraton, global chief investment
officer, fixed income at HSBC Global Asset Management.
