Newark, NJ-based has launched a
global fund that invests primarily in infrastructure and related publicly-traded securities and companies globally. The Prudential Jennison Global Infrastructure
Fund uses the S&P Global Infrastructure Index as a benchmark and is managed
by Shaun Hong and Bobby Edemeka, who have more than 19 years of utilities experience
between them. The fund uses a total return strategy that looks beyond the
index to define infrastructure as companies that own, operate, develop and
service infrastructure assets, the firm said. The fund is available in the following share
classes: A: PGJAX, C: PGJCX, and Z: PGJZX. "Infrastructure may provide investors with
diversification within their portfolios, along with consistency, given that
many of the companies in this sector provide necessary services no matter which
economic cycle we're in. The fund also offers a potential hedge against
inflation because infrastructure contracts often allow prices to rise with
inflation," Hong said.
