BNY Mellon Continues Wealth Management Hiring Drive; Adds To UHNW Team

BNY Mellon has appointed Eric Matheson as senior director
of business development for BNY Mellon Wealth Management serving the ultra-high
net worth market in the New York Tri-State region. It has also made a senior appointment in Denver. The US
firm is embarking on a two-year recruiting campaign to increase its sales force
by 50 per cent and add to other key positions in top US wealth markets. It is also
adding to staff outside the US
in areas including wealth management, as previously reported by this
publication. Matheson started with the firm in early July and reports to
Katia Friend, managing director for the Tri-State region. Prior to joining BNY
Mellon, he was a financial advisor and partner on a team managing more than $1
billion in assets at Raymond James. Previously, he served as a vice president and financial
advisor for Bernstein Global Wealth Management, and as a fixed income
specialist Offitbank, working with ultra-high net worth individuals and their
family offices, businesses and personal trusts. The firm also announced it has hired Tracy McCarthy
to lead its Denver office as regional president. She will reports to
David Emmes, president of US Markets West.In this role,
McCarthy will be responsible for managing and expanding the firm’s
presence in Colorado. Prior to this, McCarthy had her own business strategy consultancy and has worked at
a number of wealth managers and private banks including US Trust,
Lloyd’s Banking Group and Citibank. The firm, meanwhile, announced it has moved the West Palm Beach office of BNY Mellon Wealth Management to
a larger office at 330 PGA
Boulevard in Palm Beach Gardens. “The firm considers the Palm Beach region a key location and remains
committed to enhancing its presence there. In addition to the leadership of
Senior Director William Greenman, the office is also the home base for Tim
Goering, BNY Mellon Wealth Management’s managing director for sales for the
state of Florida,”
