Florida-Based Bank Appoints Wealth Management Executive

Florida-headquartered has hired Manuel del
Cañal as executive vice president of the firm’s wealth management division. del Cañal has worked across retail, international
and business banking with some of Florida’s largest institutions. Prior to
joining Ocean Bank, he served as senior vice president and business banking
manager for the Miami-Dade county at BankUnited, having
previously held the position as senior vice president in retail sales and
international private banking. Earlier, he worked for SunTrust as first vice president
of international trust and investments. “Manuel’s experience in many aspects of banking will be a
terrific asset for our growing community of high net worth clients,” said Ocean
Bank’s president and chief executive, Alfonso Macedo. Ocean Bank is an independent, state-chartered commercial
bank with $3.34 billion in assets as of June 30, 2013. The firm has 21 branches
throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties and said that this recent hire will
support its growing wealth management division.
