Rothschild Hires Wealth Management Head in Guernsey

, a wealth management firm for ultra-high and high
net worth individuals, has appointed Barrie Duerden to lead its wealth management
business in Guernsey. Duerden joins Rothschild with immediate effect and will report
to Mark Kary, head of Rothschild’s UK wealth management business. His
main responsibilities will include leading the firm’s UK expansion of
its advisory services. “Duerden will play a key role in firmly establishing
Rothschild’s wealth management reputation and business in the Channel
Islands,” added Kary. Duerden joins Rothschild from Canaccord Genuity Wealth
Management in Guernsey, where he was head of
investment policy. He has more than 25 years’ experience in the investment and
wealth management industry having worked for firms such as Credit Suisse, LCF
Rothschild Group and Corazon Capital in a variety of private client and
investment management roles in Guernsey, Switzerland and New York. Rothschild's Wealth Management & Trust provides wealth
structuring, investment management, banking and trust services from its main offices
in Frankfurt, London and Zurich and is part of the international
financial services group, Rothschild. Its wealth management business has €16 billion ($21.1
billion) in assets under management and its clients currently have an average
€5 million ($6.59 million) in investable assets.
