, a privately held commercial real
estate services firm, has expanded its Kolkata, India operations by acquiring the entire team of
Lemongrass Advisors, a well-respected real estate consultancy firm in Eastern India.
The strategic move has essentially doubled Cushman &
Wakefield’s operations in the Kolkata region, playing into the firm’s plans for
an Indian expansion. With this move, the firm is hoping to provide more
in-depth experience and a wider range of integrated solutions to its clients. “Enhancing our capabilities is a strategic priority for us. Over
the past 18 months we have added six new offices and over 900 new staff to our Asia operations and this latest team acquisition is a
testimonial to our continued support to the region,” said Carlo Sant’Albano,
Cushman & Wakefield’s executive chairman. The acquisition of the Lemongrass team follows the firm’s
expansion into Taiwan and Philippines with office openings in Taipei and Manila
earlier this year, as well as the acquisition of the Singapore-based project management
company PSG. Cushman & Wakefield is a privately held
commercial real estate services firm with more than $2.2 billion in assets
under management globally.
