European Business Group Pushes To Get More Listings On Singapore Stock Market

The European Chamber of Commerce in Singapore is
hosting two heavyweight speakers as they seek to attract potential clients to
list on the SGX, or . With global investments continuing to flow into the Eastern
hemisphere to fulfil the Asian needs, Euro Cham is keen to see how companies can
source the capital to match their business strategies. Magnus Böcker, chief executive of Singapore Exchange, and
Ray Ferguson, chief executive of Standard Chartered Singapore, will be the keynote speakers
at the event titled: Asian Capital
Markets and Singapore -
Gateway to Asia. The event will be held at the Fullerton Hotel, on 23 September. Sitting in the heart of Asia’s biggest economies of China, India,
Indonesia and Japan the SGX
offers, its management will say, a perfect location for more businesses and
investors to participate in the growth opportunities and access the best
investments. Böcker has over two decades of leadership experience in the
exchange industry, including being president of NASDAQ OMX, spearheading the
creation of OMX (the Nordic Exchanges Company), and subsequently playing a key
role in the merger of OMX and Nasdaq in 2008. Magnus Böcker joined SGX as chief executive officer on 1 December 2009.
