Investec Wealth & Investment's Chief Investment Strategist Exits

Investec Wealth & Investment has confirmed that its chief investment strategist, Jim Wood-Smith, has left the firm after 18 months of service. Prior to joining IW&I, Wood-Smith served as head of research and chief investment officer at Williams de Bröe, which was acquired by IW&I in 2011. Before that, he spent time in a similar role at Christie Financial. Wood-Smith’s responsibilities will be divided between the firm’s 18-strong research team, led by head of research, John Haynes, a spokesperson told this publication. Last month, Investec Wealth & Investment reported an increase in its clients’ overall exposure to infrastructure funds by over £40 million ($61.5 million) for the last 12 months and by £60 million over the past two years.
