HSBC North America is beefing up its Chicago presence by opening a commercial and private banking office in the city. Private banking services will be offered through a temporary office at 277 W. Monroe St. and will relocate to permanent space in December at the Hyatt Center, S. Wacker Drive, according to the bank. The office, which will staff around a dozen people, joins the wealth and tax advisory business HSBC opened in Chicago in May. David Pateros has been appointed managing director for HSBC’s Chicago private bank. He was previously managing director for Citigroup’s private banking office in Chicago.
