BlackRock Fund Manager Takes Long-Term Sick Leave

BlackRock’s UK Income co-manager Nick McLeod-Clarke will take long-term sick leave with immediate effect, the New-York listed company has confirmed.

McLeod-Clarke has co-managed the UK Income fund with Adam Avigdori since 2009, who will continue to run the fund. McLeod-Clarke will step down to recover from poor health and will not return to managing it. Instead he will oversee a number of institutional mandates on his return.  

BlackRock has yet to agree a replacement for his role as manager, but it said in a statement: “We are looking to add resources to support the management of this important income strategy on behalf of our investors.”

As at 28 February 2013, the fund's assets under management were valued at £698 million ($1.06 billion).
