Barclays has brought in Lydia Fearn and Jesal Mistry to develop a new investment consulting team within its Corporate & Employer Solutions business. Fearn and Mistry will draw on Barclays' wealth and investment proposition to advise corporate clients (employers and trustees) on the strategy for their workplace pension schemes. Based in London, they will report to Paul Wilson, head of employee benefit consulting at Barclays Corporate & Employer Solutions. Fearn joins from Lane Clark & Peacock, where she spent the past six years advising clients on their investment strategies for defined benefit and defined contribution plans. She previously served as an investment consultant at Hewitt EnnisKnupp. Mistry is latterly of Aon Consulting, where he worked across a number of practices before deciding to specialise in investment consulting. “As a wealth manager we understand both the investment and decision making challenges individuals have in accruing wealth – and this means that we are far more attuned to the DC market than those that approach the challenge from an institutional perspective,” Wilson said.
