EXCLUSIVE: Barclays Rings Changes At Wealth Advisory Group
Tom Burroughes
27 March 2013
The wealth and investment arm of Barclays is
realigning the component parts of its wealth advisory business. Its corporate and employer solutions unit becomes part of the international,
intermediaries and direct group, headed by Peter Horrell, this publication has learned. The trusts,
fiduciary risk and international wealth advisory units will form part of
global research and investments (GR&I), headed by Robert Brown. Under
the changes, Rob Withecombe, who has headed the wealth advisory
business since 2009, will leave the UK-listed bank, this publication has
learned. His future plans are unclear at this stage. The
changes are designed to create what Barclays calls a “single centre of
excellence” for its wealth-related services and products and improve
service quality for clients.
