UBS Names Private Banking Head In Jersey

UBS has appointed Jonathan Ferrara, who is presently the head
of UBS Trustees (Jersey), as the firm’s head of private banking in Jersey, part
of the Wealth Management UK and Jersey group,
this publication has learned. Ferrara
will be responsible for the private clients teams and the custody and execution
desk. The appointment takes effect from 8 April; he will retain some
responsibilities related to his existing role for a short period. He joined the Zurich-headquartered firm in 1999 and has been
head of the UBS trust business in Jersey since
2000. Among other changes, David Baker will become a wealth
management Jersey desk head, reporting to Ferrara.
He has been with the bank for 20 years. Alan Butel, currently deputy head of UBS Trustees (Jersey),
will become head of UBS Trustees (Jersey). Among
his roles, he is a committee member of JATCO, the Jersey
trust company industry association, and a member of the Society of Trust and
Estate Practitioners. He joined the BankAmerica Trust Company in 1984 and spent
several years with a sister company in the Cayman Islands before joining UBS in
1999, when the BankAmerica Trust Business was acquired. Niamh Harding will
become his deputy.
