John Hall, chief executive of UK-based Brewin Dolphin Securities, has become the new chairman of UK trade body the Association of Private Client Investment Managers and Stockbrokers. He replaces Mark Powell, chairman of Rathbones. “Under Mark Powell’s excellent chairmanship, APCIMS has developed into the recognised industry leading spokesman for the UK private wealth management and broking industry. “Through his strategic guidance, we have been able to establish a place for APCIMS at the top table, when making representations to, and negotiating with, regulators, exchanges and the EU Commission,” said Angela Knight, APCIMS’ chief executive. Brewin Dolphin is one of the UK’s largest independent private client fund managers with around £20 billion of client funds under management.
