Singapore Development Board Signs Cooperation Deal With International Law Firm

Duane Morris & Selvam, the Singapore-based joint law venture of international firm Duane Morris and Singapore's Selvam, has entered into a deal with the Singaporean Economic Development Board to explore business opportunities.

The EDB is an agency of the government dedicated to enhancing the position of the city-state as a global business center. The agreement will go on until 2015.

The objective of the partnership is to engage clients and contacts in the US and Latin America to explore business and expansion opportunities in Singapore. The collaboration is led by Eduardo Ramos-Gomez, managing partner of Duane Morris' Asian offfices, and a former Mexican ambassador to Singapore. 

"Through this strategic alliance, we look forward to working with large and mid-size business corporations in the United States and Latin America to establish a presence in Asia. Singapore presents to these companies a unique offering as a springboard for them to internationalize," said Quek Swee Kuan, deputy managing director of the Singapore Economic Development Board
