Credit Suisse Names New Vice Chairman Of Asset Management For APAC

Credit Suisse has appointed Neil Harvey as vice chairman of asset management for Asia Pacific, the Swiss bank told this publication. 

Harvey assumes the position in addition to his roles as chief executive, Hong Kong and co-CEO, Greater China, a title which he shares with Liping Zhang, who is also vice chairman, global investment banking at Credit Suisse

Harvey will be the senior representative for the business in the region, providing local oversight and guidance, as well as foster and develop key asset management client relationships in Asia Pacific, the firm said in an emailed statement.

Harvey has been involved in investment banking and asset management for 27 years and has worked in the Asia-Pacific region for 15 years. His 13-year career at Credit Suisse has spanned many roles and regions with his most recent role as head of Asia-Pacific and global emerging markets for the asset management division. He has also been head of the investment banking division and fixed income division for Asia (excluding Japan). He founded the bank’s global emerging markets fixed income business.

Credit Suisse also recently named a new chief executive for Australia. Effective as of this month, Rob Stewart assumed the top role in the country in addition to his existing responsibilities as co-head of the investment banking department.
