Franklin Templeton Asset Management, the global investment management firm, has launched a new fund offering in Malaysia.

The Templeton Asian Bond Fund opens opportunities for qualified Malaysian investors to take advantage of actively managed fixed-income products focused on strong Asian economies.

The fund's multi-sector structure covers investments in corporate and government bonds throughout the region, but also taps into global interest rates and currency inefficiencies to achieve the highest possible risk-adjusted returns, the firm said in a statement.

The fund is available through a wholesale feeder fund managed by Franklin Templeton Asset Management. Citibank has been appointed as its first distribution partner in Malaysia. The minimum initial investment is MYR10,000 ($3,200).
