UK's Quilter Adds To App Trend

UK investment manager Quilter has launched an app for the iPad and iPhone, which is free to download from the Apple App Store.

The app, which is an extension of the firm’s online valuation service with the same high level of encryption and security, and has been developed to work over both 3G and 4G connections as well as Wi-Fi, enables clients and their advisors to view portfolio valuations and asset allocation. Clients will be able to view a valuation summary and see details of all their portfolios at a glance.

Quilter’s launch of the apps is part of a wider wealth management trend of firms embracing such mobile technologies.

“The launch of the Quilter App for our clients and IFAs continues our strategy to enhance client reporting; offering access to clients’ portfolio information when it suits them, regardless of time or location. With over 35 billion (as end-September 2012) apps being downloaded by users, it was clear to Quilter that many of our clients and IFAs would welcome this extension of our online valuation service,” said Stephen Vakil, managing director, Quilter.

Other features of the app include capital and income cash statements by currency, links to Quilter’s daily morning note, monthly market commentary and bond commentary, as well as Quilter’s new bi-annual client magazine QED.

Extra features for the iPad allow full valuation information to be viewed by rotating the device and the provision of asset allocation by bar and pie chart.

In other recent developments, earlier this month, Quilter launched a service to support migrants from outside Europe seeking to obtain UK residency through the UK Border Agency’s Tier 1 (Investor) visa - a category for high net worth individuals who want to make a “substantial” financial investment in the UK.
