Canadian Bank Expands Into Asia With New Office

Brookfield Financial, the Canada-headquartered financial services firm, is expanding into the Asian market with a new financial advisory office in Hong Kong. The new branch will be led by A Richard Brown as managing partner. Brown brings 25 years of industry experience to the role, most recently as managing director and regional head of treasury services at BNY Mellon in Hong Kong. Prior to that, he served as the regional transaction banking head for Bank of America after serving for 18 years at Citibank. Outside of Canada, Brookfield Financial has offices in the US, Europe, India, Australia and Brazil. The company is wholly-owned by Brookfield Asset Management, a global alternative asset manager with some $150 billion in assets under management.
