James Hambro & Partners, the UK-based private client asset manager, has named James Horniman as a partner, recruiting him from UBS Wealth Management.

Horniman had been with the Swiss banking giant’s wealth management arm since 2007. As a team leader and portfolio manager in the UK domestic business, he oversaw a team managing assets in excess of £500 million ($811 million) in client assets. Before joining UBS he had been with HSBC Investment Management for five years, as a director and team leader in the UK private client business.

With the appointment of Horniman, James Hambro & Partners now has nine partners.

In other recent news, last month James Hambro & Partners merged with Calkin Pattinson, a financial planner concentrated on the high net worth market, to create a merged group combining financial planning and discretionary portfolio management.

The newly-combined entity has some £1 billion in assets under management, advice and administration.
