US Trust Hires Ex-Ambassador

US Trust has hired Charles Swindells, the former US ambassador to New Zealand, to be vice chairman of its Western region, which comprises California, Oregon, Texas and Washington. Mr Swindells previously worked for the New York-based wealth management firm before being appointed to the ambassador’s role. He had previously worked as managing director in US Trust's Portland office. Mr Swindells is a founder of Capital Trust Co. in 1981, which was acquired by US Trust in 1993.
