Nucleus, the Edinburgh-based IFA wrap platform which recently hit £4 billion ($6.2 billion) in assets under administration, has added to its finance team to support its further growth.

Nick Whitfield has joined the firm as operational accountant, an appointment which follows that of Cara Gray as financial accountant at the start of the year.

Whitfield previously worked for Royal Bank of Scotland, where he managed the projects team within business banking financial control, and before he that spent three years with financial services audit at Ernst & Young.

Part of a seven-strong team overseeing the financial management of Nucleus, Whitfield reports to chief financial officer, Aileen Mathieson.

Reaching the £4 billion asset milestone coincided with the firm’s sixth anniversary. Since its 2006 launch Nucleus has accumulated 130 member IFA firms.
