Appleby, the offshore law firm, has formed a team dedicated to providing regulatory advice in Jersey.

The team will help local and global clients with regulatory and investigatory matters in areas such as financial services, anti-money laundering, e-gaming, data protection and competition laws on the Channel Island.

"Recent developments internationally and domestically have brought about significant changes, not only in the financial services sector, but across the whole spectrum of industries operating in Jersey," said Mark Lewis, partner at Appleby. "Competition and data protection law affects all businesses and recent changes to gaming rules offer new opportunities”.

Back in April, Appleby hired Mark Holligon as a partner in its litigation and insolvency practice on the Isle of Man.
