Barclays has bolstered its Crawley, West Sussex office with a new senior appointment within its Corporate & Employer Solutions
division. Anthony Whittington - latterly of HSBC
- joins as a corporate wealth advisor and will focus on helping entrepreneurs
and small- to medium-sized businesses manage the risks related to their most
valuable employees as their businesses grow, the firm said in a statement. At HSBC, Whittington was an advisor within
the commercial team. Richard Phelps, head of C&ES, said the hire represents an "exciting time" for the division, following the launch of its Employee Benefit Consulting and Global Share
Plan businesses last year, under the leadership of Paul Wilson and Chris Mowatt
respectively. In other recent developments, yesterday two senior
appointments were announced within the Liverpool office of its wealth and investment
management division. Lee Ramsden joins from independent wealth advisors, while Stephen
White joins as a corporate wealth advisor as part of his remit working for
the C&ES unit.
