UK-based Grovepoint Capital, the private investment
firm, has launched an investment arm for clients such as family offices and
high net worth individuals, called Grovepoint Investment Management. “GIM has been established to meet the market need for an
investment adviser focused on specialised opportunities,” Grovepoint said in a
statement today. The business division starts with assets under management of
$300 million and is regulated by the Financial Services Authority. “We believe there is an exceptional level of opportunity in
specialist assets. We see a market need for a really high quality investment
manager in this field to help investors navigate the wealth of opportunities,
such as those in distressed debt, as the world continues to de-lever. We are
launching at the right time to capitalise on these opportunities and look
forward to building a substantial business in this field,” Brent Geater,
managing partner at the new business, said. The new business division will offer investments in
distressed assets and select private equity, real estate and growth capital
opportunities. It also provides bespoke portfolio management services,
providing independent advice on asset allocation through both active and
passive investment strategies across global asset classes and geographies. Grovepoint Capital was founded in 2010 as a private
investment firm.
