EFG Asset Management, part of Switzerland’s EFG, has recruited China equity fund manager Mansfield Mok, a former senior fund manager at GAM. As part of EFG Asset Management’s expansion of Asian-orientated
strategies, Mansfield will be responsible for equity investing in China,
based in Hong Kong. His appointment follows on from the hiring of Tony
Jordan who manages EFG Asset Management’s New Capital Asia Pacific
Equity Income Fund, the firm said in a statement today. At his former firm, Mok co-managed the $1.5 billion GAM Star China
Equity Fund. During his five year tenure the fund outperformed the MSCI
China Index by 72.1 per cent, the statement said. Mansfield has over 21 years of investment experience and was recently
named "Best Fund Manager Over Three Years" at the 2011 Professional
Adviser Awards. He began his investment career in 1990 as a mid-cap
analyst with Hoare Govett, before moving on to ING Barings Securities HK
Limited in 1992 and Munich Re Asia Capital Management in 2000.
