UK Private Client Broker Makes Acquisition

Charles Stanley has bought the UK regional stockbroker Rowan Dartington for an undisclosed sum. Rowan Dartington is a prominent West Country stockbroker in the UK with offices in a number of major regional centres, including Bath, Chichester and Hereford. Rowan provides a wide range of private client and institutional stock broking services, together with corporate finance services principally to smaller quoted companies. Last year Rowan Dartington made an estimated pre-tax profit of £850,000 ($1.6 million) on turnover of around £5.95 million. This was up from £10,000 profit on turnover of £4.89 million in 2003. It has about £300 million under management.
