Japanese Bank Continues Latin America Expansion

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation is opening a Lima representative office tomorrow, as the Japanese lender seeks to grow its Latin American presence.
The new office will be headed by Yasuo Takeuchi. It will be located at Av. Canaval y Moreyra in San Isidro, in Peru.
SMBC counts Latin America as one of its strategic growth areas. It officially established a new Latin America business last year. It has a subsidiary in Brazil, Banco Sumitomo Mitsui Brasileiro, and offices in Mexico and Columbia.
