Fangda Partners, the Chinese law firm that specialises in corporate compliance and banking, is opening an office in Hong Kong.

The new branch will be led by Peter Yuen, who moves from UK firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer where he has served as Hong Kong-based partner since 2007. Yuen is qualified to practice in England, Wales and Hong Kong and has represented high-profile clients in Hong Kong, China and other countries. His areas of specialization include commercial disputes, regulatory and corporate compliance investigations, banking, intellectual property and professional negligence litigation.

Fangda Partners has three offices: Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen. The new Hong Kong office allows the firm to expand its reach to Hong Kong-based clients, particularly in areas of cross-border transactions, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and private equity investments. It has around 150 lawyers in China alone.
