Russia's Troika Dialog Adds To Top Management

Troika
Dialog, a subsidiary of Russia’s
largest bank Sberbank, has appointed Anatoly
Popov as head of the company’s retail business, a move that comes as
Sberbank looks to integrate Troika Dialog’s distribution network into
Sberbank’s retail arm. In addition, he will continue to supervise areas including the affluent client service division. In
his new role, Popov looks to extend the format of Sberbank’s retail network,
while overseeing the integration of clients from Troika to Sberbank, ensuring they
receive “the most comfortable possible service conditions
and a wider range of financial products”. The
proposed integration of Troika’s clients is indicative of the CIS region’s increasingly
strong performance in wealth management, with Sberbank looking to use their
network of clients to meet the region’s demand for modern financial services. Popov,
who joined Sberbank in May 2011 from Vimpelcom, will retain his post as vice
president of the retail arm and overee the departments of retail service and
sales, operational management and the firm’s affluent client service division. Alexander
Torbakhov, deputy chairman of the management committee of Sberbank Russia, cited
the goal of integrating Troika into its business as a move that will allow the
firm to “attain leading positions on the comprehensive banking services
market.” Troika Dialog is an investment company operating in
the CIS and a subsidiary of Sberbank of Russia, specialising in securities
sales, investment banking and private asset management. Sberbank is Russia’s
largest bank with $318.9 billion in total assets as of 2011.
