UBS Wealth Management Americas Poaches MSSB Teams In New Jersey, California

UBS Wealth Management Americas has nabbed two Morgan Stanley Smith Barney advisory teams for its offices in New Jersey and California.

Mario Afram, Carl Ekroth and Harish Jashanani are joining UBS’s Paramus, NJ office, bringing a production of around $1.4 million and assets under management of around $200 million. Afram has been appointed first vice president – investments, and his team-mates join as vice presidents.

In Encino, CA, Shawn Shafer, James Forsyth and Steven Miller are joining UBS. Figures for assets under management and production have not been released for the team.

Recruitment of financial advisors has hit the ground running this year, with news emerging earlier today that MSSB for its part has brought in 11 new advisors managing $1.7 billion in combined client assets already.

UBS ended last year by ramping up its advisory teams in Toledo, OH and Rochester, NY. In Toledo the Swiss firm added the Findley/Wise Group, with $800 million AuM, and in Rochester it brought in a team with $375 AuM.
