Quam Limited, the
Chinese securities firm previously known as Wah Fu International Holdings, has launched
a members-only club targeted at China’s rich “connoisseurs”, accessed only
through its new wealth management business. Quam Private Club, an
exclusive, high-end members' club, will provide access to a wide range of
benefits and services such as “culinary adventures, art appreciation,
travelling experience that befits only the connoisseurs of the art of living,”
according to a statement from the firm. The club is accessible
only for clients of the firm’s new wealth management business, Quam Private
Wealth, an online platform run from the inaugural Hong Kong office in
Wing On Centre, Sheung Wan. "Our mainland
friends may not fully realize that wealth management is indeed an individual
responsibility, but this perception is increasingly gaining popularity,
delivering substantial market potential," said
Kenneth Lam Kin-hing, chief
executive officer of
Quam. With the booming
demand of sustainable and professional private wealth management services, the
company said it is confident about growing through soaring wealth and overseas
investment of the mainland. It is not the first to raise the importance of serviced-based wealth management for newly-minted Chinese high net worth individuals. In a recent interview Steve Farrer, the director of the Hong Kong office of intelligence provider
Wealth-X, said: "This is new money now wanting to enjoy the lifestyle of old money: fine wine, collectable art, luxury yachts, private jets, trophy homes, and the finest in education for their children.” He added that those firms replicating the traditional Western portfolio management models of asset protection and investment ideas, may come away from the East, empty handed.
Quam Private Wealth
officially commenced its business on 13th December in Hong Kong. QPW's services
include corporate finance, asset management, private equity fund, investment
consultation, online stock trading and wealth management.
