Somerset CM Launches Global EM Fund

London and Singapore-based Somerset Capital Management has launched its Somerset Emerging Markets Small Mid Cap EM All Country Fund with $30 million seed capital. The firm currently offers this strategy on a managed account basis. The strategy comprises what the firm sees as its best research ideas across all portfolios, with market caps between $1 billion and $7.5 billion. This includes some of the smaller, frontier markets such as Kenya and Slovenia. The lead managers are Edward Robertson and Timothy Hay. Somerset Capital is an employee-owned global emerging markets fund management firm with around $1.2 billion assets under management. Specifically structured for active GEM investing, it focuses on concentrated, bottom-up, long-term, EM equity portfolios for governmental, family office and institutional clients.
