Fidelity Hires Senior Portfolio Manager For Global Equities

Fidelity Worldwide Investment has appointed Jeremy Podger as a senior portfolio manager in its global equity team. He will report to Dominic Rossi, global chief investment officer for equities, and will work with Richard Lewis, head of global equities, who was appointed in September. Podger will be responsible for the $2.5 billion Global Special Situations Fund, replacing Jorma Korhonen, who has decided to leave the company. Podger will join Fidelity in March next year, until then Sudipto Banerji will manage global special solutions. Currently Podger is head of global equities at UK-based asset manager Threadneedle and is manager of the Threadneedle Global Select and Global Alpha funds. In other hires, Paras Anand was recently appointed head of Fidelity’s pan-European team and will join next year, after which he will manage the UK and continental European equity portfolio management teams based in London, Paris, Frankfurt and Milan.
