Ibbotson Associates Announces Head Of Advisor Services

Ibbotson Associates Australia, a subsidiary of US-based asset management firm Morningstar, has named Matthew Esler head of advisor services.
Esler was most recently an executive director for strategy and technical services at Midwinter Financial Services, where he remains a non-executive director. At Midwinter, he was responsible for providing technical and strategic advice to dealer groups and financial advice practices on superannuation, tax, investment, insurance and legislative issues. Prior to that, he was head of technical for Advance Asset Management, an Australian financial services firm, and technical manager for Zurich Financial Services Australia, a subsidiary of Zurich Financial Services Group.
At Ibbotson, Esler will be responsible for leading the Australian unit's investment capabilities while working with financial advisor dealer groups and managing the firm's relationships with financial advice practices. He reports directly to
Chris Galloway, general manager for investment services.
Ibbotson Associates Australia is part of Morningstar's investment management division, which records around $167 billion in assets under management and advisement as of 30 September 2011.
