Tom Burroughes
7 November 2011
Rex Cowley, director of products and marketing at Close
International prior to its acquisition by Kleinwort Benson in June this year,
has left the business, this publication can confirm. He had served the firm for more than nine years and was
responsible for Close International’s product and proposition development and
marketing across pensions, asset management, trusts, banking, custody and fund
administration. Cowley worked out of its Jersey
office. He was based in the company’s Jersey
office. Cowley was credited with bringing a number of retirement
products to the market including qualifying recognised overseas pension schemes and the Close
All Weather Fund in 2003. In June, Kleinwort Benson purchased Close Offshore Group for £26.4
million (around $43.4 million) increasing the size of its private wealth assets
under management by £1.6 billion. As previously reported, Kleinwort Benson appointed Danny
Vogt as chief operating officer - a newly-created standalone role - and John
Boyce as chief technology officer.
