Lloyd George Management, part of Toronto-based BMO Global Asset Management, has launched a set of frontier market equity strategies aimed at global investors.

Thomas Vester Nielsen has been appointed to lead the strategies from the firm's London office. He joins from a similar role at BankInvest, a Danish institution.

The firm defines frontier markets as countries with market-oriented economies in the early stages of economic development, reflecting many of the same characteristics of the original global emerging markets.

Lloyd George Management is a specialist Asian, global emerging and frontier market equity manager, established in 1991 with offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Mumbai, London and Florida. Its assets under management stand at around $3.2 billion. BMO bought LGM in April of this year.
