Threadneedle, the London-based asset manager, has bolstered its emerging markets team with the addition of two analysts.

Georgina Hellyer joined as an analyst for global emerging markets yesterday and Ilan Furman will join as an analyst for the Latin American markets on 1 August. Both will sit within the London-based Asia ex-Japan emerging markets equities team, which is headed by Vanessa Donegan and manages some £6.1 billion ($10.01 billion) of assets in emerging market, Latin America, Asia (ex-Japan), China and India equity portfolios.

Hellyer was latterly a commodities and technical analyst within the emerging markets and Asian equities team at Aviva Investors. Furman, meanwhile, was formerly a member of Pictet’s emerging markets equities team, focusing on Latin America.

Threadneedle’s global emerging markets equities team is now ten-strong following several recent hires. In May Irina Miklavchich was appointed as fund manager for Threadneedle’s £130 million global emerging markets equity fund and in April Daniel Isidori joined as a Latin America fund manager.
